"Well, I'm sort of happy," he admitted. "But only because of my girlfriend. Not because I like any of this stuff."

"Mmm. At least you've got something, then. You have plans with her today?"

"Sure. She's doing this... dinner thing." He looked a bit sheepish, as if he wasn't sure he liked the idea.

Sarah smiles sympathetically. "With her family?"

His smile flickered. "She doesn't really have any."

...well, that killed her cheer. "O-oh. ...I'm sorry."

Enzan shook his head. "You didn't know. It sort of... happened recently, and she really doesn't have anyone else right now but me."

"Is that why you're nervous?"

"Sort of." He thought about and quickly dismissed trying to explain her invitation to his 'family.'
