One of the perks of working in a college library: it's the end of the school year, and book-weeding season; going through some garbage bags of discarded, only-scanned-and-never-used textbooks, I found a culinary textbook meant for students at chef school.

Well, a lot of it is very basic stuff, like about making tea or whatever.
I find the science behind tea-making to be really cool, I had no idea, to me it was just like "pour hot water over some leaves; enjoy"
But they get into stuff like the water becoming flat if it's already been boiled or if it's sitting too long because there are no air bubbles in it anymore, stuff like heating up the teapot with hot water before making the tea so it doesn't cool down the boiling water too quickly, etc.
I'm sure you could get this kind of book at OPL or carleton library.. I used to come across this stuff once in a while.

cool book, i remember reading a jacques pepin book i got at the VPL which was basically just a lot of pictures of how to properly do cooky things. was awesome.

also, i think i am the new custodian of your old bike? did you give a bike to jude like a billion years ago? she's leaving town and i needed one so now i have the "leader"

Haha yes that was my bike. I don't know whether to congratulate you or feel slightly sorry.. that was my childhood bike, you should probably upgrade given the chance!
