:) I love picking B.Berries on the fly! I used to do it with my friends in my old neighborhood when we lived in that bug house. There were patches overgrown and bursting with black juicy berries! Mmmmmm soooo good. Those were the times when I was making tons of homemade ice cream. I definitely recall the blackberry and candied ginger batch that I whipped up. Such good times, until one of those ladies made off with my ice cream maker ;(
A couple years after I moved, I tried going back again to have an impromptu harvest. But was sadly faced with the realization that in my absence, all of my favorite bushes had been cut down. :(
It is nice though, on the flip side there are boatloads of fresh lavender, rosemary, pennyroyal, mint, mellissa and other wild herbs that grow allover town.
Although I really love it when I come across a rogue raspberry bush on my travels. Now that's what I'm squawking about!!!
Awesome!! I walked past a whole bunch of bushes at the coast in the last two weeks, and didn't feel like getting all torn up in thorns (they're wild and delicious), but I regret not packing a few containers now. They've got(??) ridiculously expensive here too.
