Hahaha!! I suppose this film doesn't have it's version of Mustafa Golubić too?!? (excuse my tiresome obsession with local anti-heroes, no matter how marginal they are to any given story!!!)
Given that the history books were reprinted 3 times during my basic education, and I believe at least once after I finished higschool, you'll understand that I have no idea who he was!!! In socialism there was a street named after him in many towns, and I read conflicting stories that he was a russian then yugoslavian spy, and then spied for the other side, and switched sides, and even after one of these sides killed him, they weren't sure whose side he worked on at the end, and I also forgot all these conflicting stories I once heard! However, his main fame comes from one fact: he beat down (the real) Trotsky to death with a hammer!
his unfailing devotion to his "destiny" is sort of the reason of being for his character. even though everyone doubts him, including the audience, he doesn't give a care.
don't you think teen movies and movies telling you how to live can only really handle one multi-dimensional character? to show us how different they are from the rest of the bland old world?
i thought the movie was really funny, and not just good "for a canadian movie"
while most of the jokes probably went over my head it was still a great time

Quite funny for sure. There was a lot of excellent writing that you rarely see in Canadian humour anymore.
