What a night!

I finally worked up the nerve to write a long article about my home-hamlet of Ormond on Wikipedia! Everyone should read it and "Get smart". Although, I must admit that all this talk of the highland clearances is making me kind of bummed out. I mean, the people who founded Ormond were colonizers and that's wrong, but they were ( Read more... )

thank you for the plant! what kind is it? how do i love & care for it properly?

i agree on the fresco stuff. i'll hit that place up today, even though i'm broke. have you asked the owner how business is doing? i wish they were open at like 8am, because i am addicted to wheatgrass-anything these days & would definitely get a shot or shake to sip on the way to work.

Heh heh.. it's a basil plant, silly! Just let it get plenty of sun and water. (If the leaves are drooping, you know it needs water desperately!). You should just use the leaves in cooking here and there, because it probably won't survive the winter, and they grow back pretty fast anyways. And, if flowers or little seed-stems start appearing on the top of stalks, just cut them off, they're a "waste of time".

I have another of the same plant, and I don't cook much with basil these days, so I was thinking "Why am I being such a Scroogey mcBasil?"

No, I didn't want to be rude and ask how business was doing. However, I did have a funny argument with him last night where he was trying to convince me that tofu was a kind of cheese, and I kept saying it wasn't, and he finally conceded that this tofu was "made with cheese in it." Ha, ha!

maybe he meant that tofu/soymilk are made and seperated in the way that cowmilk/curds are. in that sense it would be the result that one gets cheese with regular milk with.

man, i thought it looked like either basil or mint, but it didn't smell like either! i should've chomped on a leaf. thanks daniel, i probably use basil like everyday!

i don't think it would be rude to ask...i always do! i always tell him i hope everything is going well, because he told me that he was opening the business on a relatively risk-free trial run & that if it doesn't do well after four months, he's just giving it back to "sweet bite" or whatever the original place was called.
