Rain smiled at the dog and crouched down to offer her hand for sniffing. She'd always loved dogs and they most always liked her back. One day maybe she'd be able to have one of her own. If, you know, she ever stayed in one place long enough.

"So where are you off to?" she asked. "Do you need help getting somewhere? Or food?"

He wasn't off to anywhere in particular, but it probably was time he got going home. He gives her another woof and takes off.

Rain sat on the ground and watched him head off with a smile, then sighed and stood up. "Blessings, Boy," she said quietly. "May your path be smooth before you and you find all that you need. And maybe come visit me some day."

She brushed herself off and headed on her way.
