fic, No. 6, "On the Clock"

I've been failing to finish this thing for weeks, which is ridiculous when it's fragmentary to begin with, and after zoesque's fic it's pretty much thematically redundant lolsob but I swear I was working on it way before that, brb weeping crystal tears at own slowness. Also LJ is still half-borked so no one will see this. JUST AS PLANNED ( Read more... )

THIS FIC.

DKFJKDLJFLKDJFKDJFK.

IT IS PERFECT.

"It's you in it."

Unf~! ♥

I made this really weird unhappy noise somewhere in the back of my throat when I got to the end. It's so good I wish it could just go on forever and ever. <3

*waves hands around* This is not terrible. You are a wonderful person and should write things like this always. I would point and flail at particular things but I am fresh out of work and my words are not working so well. This post is good and you should feel good. ♥ Precious boys.

This is so adorable! Not terrible at all. I think you have Nezumi and Shion perfectly here. Oh, if only this weren't AU and in fact canon... ;)

Also, I have a quick question - I noticed that you used the phrase "minding the shop", and while I've heard of it before it's not native to my Californian English dialect. I'm a huge language nerd so I'd appreciate it if you could tell me what dialect it's from! If you have any idea, and if it's no trouble, of course. :)

Thank you for writing this delightful little fic!

I guess "mind the shop" is British English, now that you mention it! The Longman online dictionary has "mind the store" as American, but where I live (in the Midwest) the most usual thing would be to say "watch the store" instead of "mind."

Glad you enjoyed!

Thanks for the prompt reply! Ah cool, British was my first instinct - though I had no idea that "mind the store" was American! It's definitely not part of my dialect, as I too would definitely say "watch" instead of "mind", haha. :)

I would PAY to see Nezumi in a production of Les Miserables.

...he'd probably be Eponine.

I too would pay. Granted I would pay to see them sitting at home watching it on DVD while curled up under a superfiber blankie and drinking hot cocoa.
