There are several "Chinese etiquette" that always amused and exasperated me. I'm quite amazed that Asian people are so particular about ancestry. But I expect a lot of these knowledge to disappear with our generation. Not that many people seem to be able to differentiate between the many aunties and uncles these days (inclusive of myself). Furthermore at least in SG, families are becoming smaller and less complicated so the necessary vocabulary will shrink correspondingly.

But it's very cool that there's actual documentation of your family stretching some 20 generations! I'd stare at those pictures endlessly. It's always been a wish of mine to know more about my family background. My dad seems somewhat estranged from his family while my mum tells me my grandma was an orphan. :X I guess I'll never know.
