It is a little. I've been going in straight lines and backtracking as Neku-kun suggested, but it just means it only takes me an hour to get back instead of three. Hm...

That kind of depends. If the trees are actually moving, you're kind of stuck. If there's a trick... I'd probably start by marking the trees you walk by. Probably keep track of how far you go before you end up back at the first tree you marked.
