Totally destroying my lurkiness to say this, but...

While I love the story itself, the plotline and the way you're writing the characters, I can't help but feel the writing could be improved with just one simple thing... Getting rid of all of those run-on sentences.

You're condensing whole paragraphs into single sentences, making them difficult to follow. I think if you try breaking those huge sentences up a bit you'd find the narrative sounds a whole lot better.
