Stealing from sunkrux shamelessly...

(though maybe I'll go back to her LJ and leave money under its pillow later) because it is happy-making and my journal is getting dusty again----->

A Fangirl Meme:

Comment with the name of a female character and I'll tell you why I love her. (If I don't love her, I'll try to make something up that sounds convincing. :op)

What am I going to do with you? I'm going to point and yell 'cheater, cheater, pumpkin eater' and then maybe throw a fork at you, that is what. ;)

I would throw a lemon, too, but these characters? Are awesome and make me full of the happy. And so I am too distracted to even attempt to aim anything like silverware or fruit, so you can consider yourself free from either of those diabolical acts. This time.

And so...

Faith Yokas: Oh, my beloved. I can totally identify with sunkrux's feelings about Aeryn Sun when I think of Faith Yokas because she was so definitively my rock as a character---I absolutely got lost in her or behind her or something when I needed to both step outside of myself and be confronted by myself the most. I know that doesn't seem like it should work, but Faith was complex enough to do it all ( ... )

Jennifer JarreauOh, my absolutely precious JJ of Criminal Minds. She stood out to me from the very beginning, and ironically, I think it is because she was the character who was the most 'in the background' on an otherwise 'high profile' team. I was intrigued by that. She exudes this sense of gentleness, shyness, sensitivity---and yet she is the PR person who has to 'take it all' before the press and the cameras and she is the one who first hears about the cases in some of their most emotionally raw forms. I was fascinated by the way who she was and what her role was didn't seem to stack up neatly ( ... )

Tell me please, why you love her. And you best not make something up. ;) I knows you love her...but why?

Whose icon am I being directed to? Yours or mine? ;)

Since I've already delayed it all way too much (I'm sorry, dogsitting for three very high maintenance dog left no chance for in depth typing last week) I'll hit them both up! :)

Brenda Leigh JohnsonWhat can I say but that I fell absolutely head over heels in love with her from her first entrance onto The Closer scene. From her no holds barred, get out of my way gentlemen, no excuses accepted, my way or the highway attitude even in the face of all of the obvious bad vibes that she was getting through to the likes of "If I wanted to be called a bitch to my face, I'd still be married"...I question the judgement of anybody who wasn't utterly smitten with her in .25 seconds. :) Oh, first season Brenda---I love her as much as ever, but there was something extra impressive about that first season when my girl had to fight so hard for absolutely everything. When no one opened a door to her and welcomed her without total prejudice over the fact that she was a woman, a southerner, not ' ( ... )

I was pointing at my icon which is a Brenda one. :D Awesome and OMG?! Seriously, you had reservations about the fantabulously talented Kyra? I won't throw a rock because I'd have to clean up any blood and I'm not in the mood to clean today. I will however, take your chocolate away for a day. That's it no more chocolate for you today. ;)

For the love of God, woman, don't deprive me of my chocolate! Throw the rock and I'll clean up my own blood. ;)

Yes, I know, I am ridiculous. I think the only thing that I knew her from was "Phenomenon," and I was not big on that movie the first time that I saw it because I am really not a John Travolta fan and he colored the experience for me. I think that he is a great human being from what I've seen, but I just cannot stand him as an actor. I did come around to the movie 'after the Kyra loving fact' when I watched it again because focusing on her character drew me in in a new way.

Can I cheat? Blue cheated! *airplane fingers up at that top comment*

If I only get one: Izzie Stevens

Extra bonus cheaty pick: Kara Thrace

I do love hearing you talk about your fictional lady loves!

Wait a minute! What kind of a cheating system is this? "If bluelittlegirl cheats, then so can I?" I'm shocked and appalled! What is this competitive lemming behavior? I...

Oh. Wait a minute. I kind of used her formula for cheating in my own response to your meme, didn't I? Damnit.

*shamefaced*

The truth of it is, you are The Mammoth, and The Mammoth has ongoing and open rights to anything and everything she wants and asks for. *bows*

And so, first---

Izzie StevensIf you told me ahead of time that my favorite character on Grey's was going to be the perky blonde girl who is full of 'yay' and smiles and bright and shiny thoughts even when things turn to crap, I would have laughed in your face. On paper, the outline for her character and I shouldn't really gel at all. Meredith and her angst, dark and twisty, and doldrums are so much more my angsty style ( ... )

I don't have a character for you - the ones i would've chosen for you have already been mentioned - but i did just want to say that i'm so happy to see someone else shouting for your first viewing of Farscape and the amazing character that is Aeryn! She's waiting for you to discover her Deb! :)

And with our shared love of female characters for many years - unless i'm missing a trick and you two have met - i just want to whisper the name Dana Scully to you as well! ;)

Always love to read your thoughts! *hugs*

Once you have watched Farscape, then I must introduce you to my other all time fav female character, the fantabulosuly sarcastic, Marguerite Krux from the oft cheesy (but in a good way) syndicated series, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World (based on his book of the same name). Marguerite came along about the same time as Aeryn so they kinda go together in my love of strong, vulnerable female characters.
