Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think you've forgotten to post the last chapter as it's not in the tags. I think I know how the ending will go and I feel happy but sad for his parents.

I feel Clark's and Hershel's relationship would be strained as a result of how much Luke really looks up to Layton. There would probably be an unspoken tension between them but I have no idea if it would really be resolved ever. Or even if it could be resolved. What do you think?

Anywhoo, I love this fic due to the drama and tension and how Layton cares about Luke so much. Layton would be a great father to Luke, had Luke been born to him. I feel sorry for Flora though considering that he cares about her but she doesn't receive the same treatment as Luke. I especially love the fact that Flora punches the guy. i don't particularly like Flora being portrayed as the ultimate lady and so it was lovely to see it.
