Eh, I hope you don't mind a somewhat negative comment, but the plot that this started off with seemed like a contrived version of the Tenchi series (hero is unknowingly a prince/hero of alien race). Maybe I'm just burnt out on that style of storyline?

It didn't seem to measure to your usual standard of writing until you focused on the DC/CC cast, but once it did, it regained your usual entertainment value. I could definately see Ran holding her own against even 'militarily superior' opponents (and the 'space chair' phrase fit wonderfully) heh

Also, that is a wonderful way to get the two of them to the proposal stage, and show off how masterfully Y/Y can mastermind their own plots >=)

Err...having never seen Tenchi and knowing next to nothing about it, I honestly wouldn't have known that was a negative comment if you hadn't said so. And I don't understand what you mean about when I focused on the DC/CC cast--when was that? They're the characters @_@

...wow, I probably sound really belligerent ^^;; But I am glad you liked the ending at least. And space chair is a great phrase, and we should all use it more often in our daily lives o/

Yea, I've read your watched/read Anime/Manga lists and can see that you hadn't seen/read Tenchi (or any of it's offshoots/remakes), so I added that comment just to clarify. And the 'focused on the characters' was when you were having the DC/CC cast interact with each other. The scenes of creation of the apotoxin to the whole councilmember entertainment.

The 'spaceyness' aspect of it just seemed almost directly transposed from what I'd gotten of Tenchi, though I've only watched the dub version on CN, which they seemed to cut off halfway through the storyline, leaving you to fill in the gaps. Usually you manage to turn even overdone plotlines on their sides and make them interesting, but it didn't seem to take effect this time.

Sorry if I wasn't very clear, I've found that I tend to be better at conversation than at actual commenting, probably why I don't comment much.
