This reminds me of how I've started watching DVDs of the Grenada series The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Whenever Watson screws up or doesn't manage to follow Holmes' logic, he scolds him like a little kid. Actually, Jeremy Brett's portrayal of Holmes reminds me . . . of House. o.o
Shin'ichi must've gotten into a fanboy debate at least once in his life, but never about something like that. *shudder* I can see that happening in Holmes fandom, too. There's Watson, even after he's married, eagerly following Holmes on his cases--ack! Some people take stories down roads they should never go!
That was danged funny, but man, Ran got him where it hurt! Wonder what could be Shin'ichi's sweet revenge . . . . Good job!

Oh, I'd like to think that Shinichi and Heiji have debates over such things--baseball vs. soccer, Ellery Queen vs. Sherlock Holmes, Osaka vs. Tokyo, and all that. And from what I've heard, the Holmes fandom does like their slash on occasion ^_~ Never ventured into it m'self, though--would need to have read the books first.
Thanks, hon! Glad you liked it! *glomps*

The main difference with House, IMHO, is that he's antisocial where Holmes is too bent on mental stimulation. Granted, the effect is similar, but the motivations differ.
