Heiji and Kazuha actually appeared for the sole purpose of that part at the end where Heiji picks Ran up. That was the only reason they were in the story, and it wound up being fun ~♥

Except Heiji looked to Kazuha first, whereas Shinichi sort of looked to the chaos first. Plus, Kazuha's never been apart from Heiji, and so there's a little more understanding and a little less fear of "If I let him go off by himself, he's going to come back a bleepin' seven-year-old!"

This one was absolutely adorable and flowed very nicely. I particularly liked the ending -- very in character, amusing, and cute all at once. I have to wonder what they wound up doing later. Chips and movies at Shinichi's? ;)

I'll also admit to being curious as to exactly what Ran and Shinichi got up to in that hedge maze...
