Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (all spoilers behind the cut)

I loved the last Harry Potter book! I bought it from Akateeminen on Saturday morning, but was only able to start reading in the evening, after we got back from my dad's. I read for 6 hours before we went to bed, and then I read the rest on Sunday afternoon while Mike was at work. It took me 11 hours to complete the book ( Read more... )

Yey! I love the fact that you loved the book! And the epilogue! Most of the people seem to dislike or even loathe the epilogue. I'm happy I'm not one of them. :)

Oh damn, I want the bag too! In Kirkkonummi the books were handed out in INFO bags or Gummerus bags. I should ask for a DH bag from Suomalainen Kirjakauppa.

I loved how Jo brougt back those minor characters from previous books - once again. Griphook for example. And Bathilda Bagshot! Never knew she would turn out to be anything at all, just another author of a some book.

Rowling. <3

I loved how they threw out the locket in book 5, and then went to great lengths in book 7 to retrieve it! This continuity is one of the main reasons why I love Harry Potter so much. I love how Grindelwald was just a brief mention on a Chocolate Frog card in book 1... I need to reread the books, although I think I'll have to wait a while, I don't want to overdo it. I did sort of ruin the first LotR-movie by watching it too many times... :(

P.S. Toi oli muuten aika hyvä oivallus tuo uhrautuminen/kuolema/ylösnousemus/paluu. ;)

CAREFUL! COMMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS!

I loved the book, too! Read it during my flight back home from the US. :-) I cried more than once, though. LOL For example, I thought it was really heartbreaking when Dobby died. And Fred. And when they found out that Remus and Tonks were gone, too. I loved the fact that Neville became a leader and did kill Nagini! And Mrs. Weasley very much reminded me of a Tiger protecting her cubs...

I liked the epilogue, too. Don't you think it opens the doors for a new series? Not about Harry, mind you - but about his kids? I don't know, maybe I'm totally mistaken. :-)

I thought all those deaths you mentioned were really sad too, but I don't cry as easily nowadays anymore. Usually I have to stop and let it sink in before I start crying, and I was so anxious to find out what happens that I didn't really have time to my mourn. But I cried in the graveyard scene because the text itself let me stop.

I just found out that Rowling will write a Harry Potter encyclopedia, you can read the news here! I'm really happy about this. And who knows, if Rowling really misses the universe she created, she might write about Harry's kids...
