Have you tried to write them down in something like a dream-diary? I found it helped me a lot to reduce the severity and intensity of my nightmares. Even reduced the amount of nightmares from every night to every second night. Although I would suspect that I'd get locked away instantly if someone ever read that journal.

Just a suggestion, not a do-this-do-that. Can't guarantee it helps, but when it comes to nightmares .. I really hope you'll find something that helps you someday.

You know I've had them for so long, I can't imagine what life would be like without them. I was planning to really sit down and think about each of my nightmares, especially the recurring ones and figure out why they scare me so much. Then I'll put it into a book that'll scare everyone else shitless.

This could actually net you some serious money from horror-fans, so it would give the nightmares a positive touch ;) ... but I wouldn't recommend to show it to your friends, allowing friends to read my nightmare-diarys cost me some friendships already.

Yes well, some of your friends are never able to accept the entire truth about you. You can sadly rarely tell until its too late
