You hate the way he calls your name. It sounds weird on his tongue. It doesn't sound like English, the language you speak. It doesn't sound like how it is supposed to be pronounced. It's not the same as how Mommy and Daddy saying it.
But when Mommy's not at home, he's always calling you. Calling you to come to the dinner table, come to the couch to watch television. And you hate it, but you still answer to him, because you know that Daddy will be angry if you don't. And Daddy will be angry.... Because Daddy loves him.

Daddy almost never hits you. And even when he does, it is just a playful, light hit in a game, and even if you do feel pain, you both end up giggling and laughing moments later. He never hits you, and you thought he'd never hit you.
He tries to teach you Spanish again, and you began to hate him all over again. You put up with him for a while, but a while is enough. You begin to show your frustration everytime he corrects you when you say a word wrongly. You literally spit the word out at him. You don't know if he can't see your frustration or he's just putting it up with it.
One last time, he corrects you. Your anger hits its highest point. "I hate you!" You scream at him. Daddy comes to your room almost immediately, too quickly, you think. Daddy looks at you, his eyes wide. He asks you what you said in a voice you never heard before. You don't dare to say it loudly, but you still repeat it.He tries to calm Daddy, but Daddy, Daddy just hits you, hard, across the cheek.

You seldom see Mommy cry. But since he came, Mommy cried one time too many. You often go into her room and settling into her arms, asking her why she's crying, but she shakes her head and says it's nothing. You don't understand it at first, but later you do.
Daddy used to be home nearly all the time, but since you watched him lift the European cup, he was almost never at home. You seldom see him, because he was always out to training before you awoke, and back home late at night after Mommy tucks you into bed. You don't see Daddy very often anymore, and during the weekends, he's either out or sometimes, he might not even come home from Friday's training. You call him sometimes, but the background's always either too noisy, or too quiet. You ask him when he's coming home, but he says he's busy all the time and will be back late.
Once, when he came home while you were still awake, they quarrelled in the kitchen. Mommy screamed at him, and he screamed back. You peep through the kitchen door and overhear some of their "conversation". Mommy spoke the truth, saying how Daddy's always not home, always out, not caring for you and Lexie. Daddy rebutted, he rebutted with how Mommy's always out shopping with the rest of her friends, argueing that Mommy was nosy, poking her nose into the world of men, argueing about how he should have his freedom. Tears ran down Mommy's cheeks. They catch sight of you hiding behind the kitchen door. Mommy rushes over and carries you to your room. You look at Daddy's concerned eyes, and that was all you saw of him that night other than his back when you see him leave in his car with Xabi sitting in the front, right where Mommy used to sit.

That day, you stood in the middle of your room, one that you would be leaving so soon for a new one. He stood at the door for a while, then knocked on it once, you don't answer. Twice, you still don't answer. "Lilly?" He calls, entering the room. You thought you could ignore him. "Lilly, it's time to go."
"I want Mommy." You mutter, a tear rolling down your cheek. You can't bear to leave Mommy and Lexie. He kneels in front of you, his eyes level with yours. He reaches out to your cheek, wiping the tear away. Another tear runs down. He sighs, resting his hand on your cheek. But you flick his hand away, and begin to run down the stairs to the kitchen where Mommy was. You fling your arms around her waist.
"Lilly? What's wrong?" She asks. He enters the kitchen in a fluster. Mommy's arms are around you as you sob uncontrollably. You shake your head.
"I want you mommy." You say. "I don't want to leave you and Lexie." A pause in the kitchen as Mommy looks at him "I don't want Uncle Xabi." You say again.

005;
You hate him; he ruined a family that you thought was perfect, a family that was yours, a family that was once whole but now broken.
