*dies* I loved the story already after I finished reading the first ending, but the alternate ending is THE WIN. Poor, poor Heiji. Poor Shinichi, for that fact... who knew Ran had it in her.

And ya know what? After I posted it, I thought of a way that I could have made Shinichi lose, and actually had it work. That was the problem I was having: I couldn't make it come out right, and so it became the alternate ending.
