ooc: Sexuality Poll!

May 16, 2007 23:08

...first off: TOTALLY UNOFFICIAL, YO. This is for my own amusement :D

Secondly: Sammy's questions, mostly, I just yoinked them without permission, wee :D

Thirdly: Answer with your personal journal, please? Just so I can figure out who's who? o.O;

EDIT: I forgot to put 4 on the first question. Just steal Jean's identity and say you're her, people ( Read more... )

I didn't put Trip as gay, as she's currently not really into that thing at all. But I'd definitely consider making her a lesbian, if I could.

But before her sexuality is set, she's gonna try and see what she likes. Which falls into the experimentation category. So she can go either way, depending on how this all turns out.

The last two were difficult, because every one of my characters is different and some of them are more defined by their sexuality than others, so it's really hard to answer that for all my characters as a whole.

I KNOW :O I just stole the questions from Sammy's comment, though, and tweaked them a little.

Geoffrey totally skewed my answer for the first of those, because sexuality does matter for his character. So much so that it kinda over-balances the scale in his favor against the other four -.-; Silly Geoffrey.

Yeah, I have one character who's pretty sexual a couple who kind of in the middle and the rest are pretty much asexual. I couldn't even tell you what Beccy is, because she is so completely not interested in dating that it's kind of ridiculous.

Silly characters.

My problem is that I keep on thinking I have six characters... and then I remember I dropped Nimuë. She's very sexual in the future, but that's more of a... minor hobby. Or something.

Yeah, all of mine are asexual except for Geoffrey. And Ramsey has random spurts of hormone, which seem to mostly only apply to Cassie's mum so far. It's disturbing.

Answer to One a Scale of 1 to 10 How Much Does Sexuality Define Your Character(s)? was skewed because Aislin was shouting 'HOMOSEXUALITY MEANS NO PROCREATION' in my head. Otherwise it'd be right down at one or two, but it isn't a bad thing for people's characters to be defined by sexuality. Whatever. I'm meant to be relaxing after a day at kindy.

Scarily enough? I think that's Gillichu's problem with it also. Which is why any 'verse in which he'll have anything to do with other boys is kinda ultimately crack.

Geoffrey screwed up my answer to that one, because sexuality matters so much to him that he counts for three or four characters. Or something.

*stare* This poll would be a WHOLE LOT MORE ENTERTAINING if people answered it with a modicum of honesty or realism.

Well, I guess that's why it's good that it's unofficial.

Hey, I dunno about other people, but I tried very hard to? What questions d'you feel people aren't answering honestly?

The one to ten things, I suppose. I shouldn't have said they're not being honest, because maybe they probably ARE and I just disagree completely with their self-evaluation.

I thought the 1-10 questions were very hard to answer, but I included them because Sammy had them in her original "poll". Personally, I know that sexuality doesn't have much of any bearing on four of my characters, because they're either too young or they have personal issues (being a werewolf apparently cramps one social life), but it has a lot of bearing on Geoffrey, because being an unstoppable flirt is a large part of his character. Without Geoffrey, I probably would have answered 3 for that question. With him, I answered 6. I dunno. It's confusing for people who have more than one character, really.

mmkay, here are some thoughts from Alix, since really... I guess this is one discussion at NP I should be wholeheartedly invovled in. So I shall use this as a place to collect my thoughts, and then perhaps share them elsewhere, somewhere more official.

I, as a player of a drama-ing sexually confused/conflicted/omg what I'm gay?!?!?! character, am obviously contributing to the so called "Big Gay Drama" aspect. So maybe I suffer from the blindness that comes with being a part of a situation, but I really don't see that there's that big of a huzzah about it. From my perspective, I don't see Big Gay Drama. Jesse has had some outbursts of mild panic and has, ya know, done some things, but I hardly see that as being out of line at all. In my case, it has been in my mind since about 2 months after creating my character that he would figure out that he was Not Straight. I played this out over a loooooong period of time, but it has never been the sole thing that defines my character. As it's come to some sort of turning point he is, ( ... )

So, um. This is a non-official post? I'd say... post this over here if you haven't already - that's where all the discussion is happening.

yes, I know, hence the "I shall use this as a place to collect my thoughts, and then perhaps share them elsewhere, somewhere more official."

I don't think there are any Not Straight characters at hogwarts who are defined just by their sexuality

And um, I would completely disagree with you on that one.
