Plotting Catastrophe

Hey, remember how I was saying that I was having some ideas for a new plot/story and I had been doodling when I was in Algarve? Well, the plot is not leaving my head so I went ahead and tried to re-do the characters (their first concept are drawn in my lil' notebook) and give them a bit more reference. So, huh, to spare you all from art dump and boring plot that is not even finished, I'm putting this behind a cut. :D This is partly for me to remember, so, ignore if it sounds extremely ramble-y.

So, this thing I'm thinking, I'd probably try to adapt it to a novel. I'm kind of tired of attempting to make comics and failing. I'm not good at panel work nor backgrounds, I have absolutely no experience nor the needed talent (and maybe a bit of education could do the trick). Sometimes I wish I had paid attention to my EV (visual education, like, art and crap in high school) classes. Maybe I could have learnt something useful. Instead, I kept almost failing, lmfao. Minus with my last teacher, she was cool so she made me work.

Anyway, I'm rambling.

So, the plot, yes. This thing would be set in a kind of steampunk setting, but a little more alike modern days - not too much pastel-y, you know? And I still have to work a lot about the world and stuff, and history and economy and geography, but it would be in this kind of world, fantasy-meets-modern-era kind of stuff. And, then the part that needs even more work, there would be like a marginalized (yet respected/acknowledged) group that, although marginalized, they were protectors of this world because they'd make sure the demons or whatever (needs work here again) didn't engulf the world. I think these "demons" would want to take over the world and for that they'd need to "eat" the soul of peoples and these marginals didn't let it happen - the thing is, they are marginalized because they're humans, however they'd be called Sacrifices to make a distinction. They would need to sacrifice a part of their body they're very attached to and replace it with a demon part. And, depending on how much that body part meant to them, the power would match its significance.

So, that's the rough of it. Of course, the real story would be very much deeper and I need to work on it a lot, but I kind of like the idea. :)

On to the characters! They have no colour scheme yet, but I do want to work on them. If you have an idea for it, leave a comment? It'd be appreciated, of course. I'm not very good with colour schemes, IMHO. Oh, and they're all wearing that group's uniform. Oh, and they have no names either, so... if you want to give a suggestion, go ahead? :D

This would be the main character! The story will probably begin with him trying to rank up in the academy/group to become a Sacrifice. He's a calm and soft-spoken young man, with the patience of a saint and a heart of gold. His Sacrifice is his right hand. He's the only one who I might have a name for, and it's Svenn. He's around 24 years old.

The oldest of the main quartet with 31 years old, rather troubled, but he keeps everything to himself. However, he's a good person and will help those he can. He has a daughter and a very sick wife. His Sacrifice are his eyes. The necklace he wears is a religious symbol.

This one is the crazy one! He's got spunk, but he's a very nice guy. He Sacrificed his heart, which is why he wears the coat closed - his left side of his torso is demon-like and he doesn't like it. He's around 22 years old.

And, of course, a lady! She's 26/27. I really like her Sacrifice - her hair. From the country she comes from, a woman's hair is their most treasured possession and it was really a big sacrifice for her. She also has a customized coat because she lost her right forearm, so she hides it under the big sleeve.

And this kid, around 11/12 years old, is a key plot, which I won't say anything about! Her colour scheme is probably tanned skin and pale hair, but I don't know. And, yes, it's a wing sprouting from the back of her head. She has also some cute boots, but I was too lazy to draw them.

And, yeah, these are them. :D I also need to design them weapons (probably a blade-type, effective on demons, and a gun-type, for protection/quick reaction). Eeeh, I don't know. But I'm kinda excited about this idea!

In an unrelated side-note, full song title is "Millions Starved And Became Skinnier And Skinnier While Our Leaders Became Fatter And Fatter". This band loves huge titles.
