This is the second part of the first panel of a G/S story, focusing on sixth moments of their relationship. I tried to give the whole story a pictural quality.

Hi, I remember you from last year.

Thank you for commenting this year too. You've perfectly caught on the feelings I was trying to convey.

Spike's imprisonment has wrested believable sympathy from Giles, and I enjoyed the care Giles has given him in the aftermath. Spike seems to be liking it, too.

I loved this line: He closed his eyes and, for a second, found himself in the depths of his obscure prison; but the human presence extracted him out of it: the world was really here, made tangible by this noisy living body. Giles' humanity is a balm after Spike's ordeal.

Giles's essential decency as a man (except where Ethan Rayne is concerned :-)!) is a great part of what makes me appreciate the character. I tried to pay an hommage to this aspect of him.

"Giles' humanity is a balm after Spike's ordeal." Yes,totally. Good catch!
