braden's game was amazing! we were only upset because we had actively decided NOT to go to the a's game that day, but instead were at the park playing baseball ourselves. his grandmother is also awesome, all talking shit about a-rod and everything. oh, it was so great.

oh, wow. man, i have missed you writing barry zito. and i love the way he's slowly getting to fit somewhere, and the way you slipped harden in, and the strawberry shakes, and tim lincecum. and all of the little details about how zito thinks - lincecum gripping his arm like a change-up. ♥

it occurred to me like a year ago that writing a's fic was almost like being an actor in a long-running series where you play the same character every day. and i write zito every day, so we have this love-hate relationship where i know my version of him so well, and also know that no other character will be as easy to write as he is. he is like an old favorite coat that doesn't keep the cold away anymore but you keep wearing it anyway.

My obsessive interest in Zito (induced by your previous MLB fics) resulted in me following the Giants, and then becoming aware of the existence of Tim Lincecum. (Gets pelted with Cracker Jack boxes.) Hey, sorry -- remember I'm a baseball newb!!

Almost immediately, something clicked -- I shipped Zito/Lincecum. And now I see **JOY** you have given weighty substance to my flights of fancy. Lovely, lovely. I didn't even know anything about Lincecum, but now I feel like I know everything. Well done. VERY well done. As always, thank you!

everyone who sees lincecum and zito together sees the love! i mean lincecum has the biggest crush ever, and zito's all in awe at the kid's skill and trying to hide it, and then they smoke a blunt and end up making out in the back of an escalade--ALL OF THIS IS SO PLAUSIBLE.
