Man, this is the first credible/mature/modern Beatles fic I've ever read.
Fic? What fic? I'll call it short story.

dude, thank you! also, have you read a lot of non-credible immature beatles fic somewhere? because that might still be relevant to my interests.

Yes I have. I'm a Beatles fan and rock and roll is big part of my life. Also I'm interested in people forced in close relationships so baam! I've been reading Beatles fics for ages.

google: beatles slash /beatles rpf)

Most times *head desk* it's just distressing.
I don't want to be rude or impolite but people like these deserve more attention and accuracy, they are not puppets or fluffy fluffons.

I still think that one of the best *fic* is The Hours and Times di C. Munch about the Barcelona affair - funny, tender, credible, sad. I love Eppy, saddest life of all. Man, their canon relationship, sexual and/or/but not, it's fascinating.

It's ridiculous that I never slashed the Beatles (and when I say The Beatles I mostly mean, as always, johnandpaul) until lately, because there's so, so much there.

I confess for a minute it felt too much like Hard Days Night (not just the one line) but then I thought about John being cooped up in a hotel room and John's personality in general, and I can also definitely see him having moments where he's just "on" and everything that comes out of his mouth is snark.

I like that this is so historically accurate -- all of this did happen or could have happened within their history. (Unlike, say, the things written in an Albert Goldman 'biography')

I can't figure out why but one of my favourite lines is The water felt colder than it did in England, somehow. I remember being in London & Liverpool -- places I'd idolized for years and familiarized myself with immeasurably -- and yet feeling so alien and displaced. I can imagine that's what America was to the Beatles at first ( ... )

oh man, couple of things here. the hard day's night sense i totally get from it too (i kept thinking of norm and shake instead of brian), but i guess i was aiming for like the darker side of it, the terrifying intensity of the girls' love and how completely unsettling it would be to be surrounded by screaming everywhere you go. and like, beatlemania nearly killed john. i mean. beatlemania nearly killed john fifteen years before it actually killed john ( ... )

The wik did you well! Myriem will tell you how often I roll my eyes at a so called documentary on the Beatles and spend the rest of the evening talking about all the things they got wrong, but I was so on par with your story.

Heh. I made Myr watch the Anthology once. She learned a lot.

i am trying to get better about writing what i want and not worrying about how it will be received.

I am on board with this sentiment, and if you getting to write for yourself turns out to give me more Beatles fic, hey, that's awesome too.

Wow. I am flabbergasted, CB. In a good way!

The tone, the details, the language, the history...you got it all spot on. And the dynamic between John and Paul, and then sticking in the casual blowjobs to keep him from going nuts...my mind is as blown as theirs were during the Sgt. Pepper period! You've done it again.

Damn, I would love to sit and just talk with you someday about the Beatles.

dude, i would be so down to chat about the beatles with you! for christmas i got beatles trivial pursuit, but i have yet to actually play it because all my friends are like, what, so we can lose to you by ridiculous margins? all my beatlemaniac peoples need to come together, fo sho.

anyway, thanks so much!

I hear some version of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," pretty much every day, and you know what it never does? Gets old.

Absolutely gorram right. First album I ever bought was The White Album. George...oh, George.

So. Beautiful story. "Thank you" barely covers it. "Bless you" more like.

every time we play desert island and i am asked which album i would take with me, i have to say the white album for no other reasons than that it is twice as many songs. it would be the hippest desert island on the block, blasting 'sexy sadie' at all hours and such.

anyway, thanks for reading! awesome that you liked it.
