I find it unendingly endearing how they treat each other like the hunt that went wrong. Especially Sammy. He's tailing and hunting Dean, that's completely batshit and strangely absolutely fitting. Because in every other sentence it becomes clear that Dean is his light, his air, his life and vice versa. They're so completely elemental to each other, it's just heart-breaking.
I honestly love the ending of this series is what I'm trying to say. Heh. The last one just killed me, this one is like coming up for air after almost drowning. ♥

i think that is right on, that bit about the hunt that went wrong. it's the broken thing that they haven't fixed, and you know that Sam's brain would explode from that kind of failing. thanks very much for reading.

'best they can hope for,' truly. it's the best i could give them while remaining true to their characterizations. awesome that you liked it, thanks for the note.

I got up ridiculously early for a Saturday morning and at first I thought it was because of the 6 inches and counting of snow which will maybe turn to freezing rain later and kill the power and bring life to a standstill for a while because North Carolinians don't handle snow very well at all, but then I saw this and I realized that this is what woke me up--somehow it reached into my subconscious mind and told me Get up. Candle_beck has posted a sequel to that fic that almost killed you and this one is going to finish the job and then resurrect you again, sort of, so you have to get up and go read it. (Sorry, I'm given to hyperbole at this hour on a snowed-in Saturday morning.) But, OMG! You fixed it. Sort of. This is so gorgeous and painful and it's not exactly a happy ending, but it's a perfect ending. The passion in this story--and I don't just mean the sex--is stunning. As is your ability to describe same. I just, I love this so HARD.
