I really wanted to see more fic follow Ultimatum, particularly where Ian and Nikki are involved. When I started thinking about Ian getting out of prison following his wrongful imprisonment, "best piece of meat you've ever had" popped into my head and this drabble fell from there. I just love these two. :)

does "mostly" mean that he's got a live deer in his apartment ready to be killed? (that would cut down on hunting time, without removing the hunting altogether)

hehe. Well, mostly means Ian was referring to himself as a piece of meat that he was offering to Nikki (in addition to the steak) but deer in his apartment could work too. hehehe.

Yeah, I've definitely been out of the writing loop! It was 2 months ago when I posted my last drabble (of 1200 words). I'm hoping that 2010 will be a good drabble year for me and that I'll post more fic in general. I really missed writing consistently last year.

I'm glad you enjoyed this. I almost didn't post it but I want 2010 to be a fandom year so I just jumped in with both feet. haha. I certainly hope there is more post-Ultimatum fic, not just for Ian/Nikki but Ian/Colby or Don/Nikki or David/Colby or... whatever! LOL. Clearly I'm not picky. :)

Have you considered tempting your muse with some remixes? They might be a nice warm up for writing more of your own fic. I mean, I'm sure there's plenty of fic out there you could change the pairing to Ian/Nikki and make it a fresh perspective.

I think maybe I need to figure out more about the remixes. I signed up to let folks remix mine if they wanted but I keep thinking "OMG, I couldn't remix someone else's for fear of messing it up!"

so, what is the deal with remixes? Take the same idea but spin a different way? Change the pairings?
