So Peter is sick, threw up all as soon as he got off the bus, poor thing. Two weeks in and we have our first virus! Ah, kids are fun. At least this is out of the way so he likely won't get sick around my brother's wedding which is the 26th. Have I mentioned how flippin' handsome my little boy looks in his tux? There will be pictures, oh yes ( Read more... )

Ohh, poor Peter! Yeah, schools are fucking germ factories, in the two years I taught at one (worse, a boarding school, no one can escape!), I had a cold or flu at least every term. Leave the job, move back to Canada, and haven't been ill since. Stupid germ factories.

Wildly jealous of your Steak and Guinness pie, I might totally have to try to make that now myself - yes, I haven't made it yet, for the purposes of the fic, I stole the recipe from a friend's Jamie Oliver book while I was waiting for him to get ready to go drinking, lol. But glad Sam's cookery inspired you to some rustic Jamie goodness :)

Yes, yes they are dammit. Tomorrow is picture day too, and it just doesn't look like he'll be there for it, and he was so cute having an outfit picked out already! I am sure they have make-up day and all that though. I get sick twice a year too, right after he does, cuz he is nice enough to share of course. My fave is when he walks up to me like he is gonna give me a big hug and then wipes his nose on me instead. Nice. Boys. He is in bed now, out like a light with the aid of some children's meds, but I full expect him to make an appearance in my bed by 2ish for cuddles, to which I will willingly cave in to, can never deny the cuddling power of a sick six year old. Ah, to be a mommy! : )

Oh the pie was SO good, you really should try it. Go out for another night of drinking and wait for said friend to get ready again so you can steal the book : ) And you know, then you get another night of drinking out of it as well, never a bad thing in my book! Wait, this wasn't the 6AM evening was it?

Aww, I have no maternal instinct to speak of, but have to admit I'd probably cave to a sick six-year-old myself *is a bit of a softie at times*

Heh, no, it was a different friend, different night from that 6am incident. I, um, drink a lot. But I'm sure he won't mind if I copy the recipe out of his copy at least!

(oh, and you might want to know, I just committed yet another act of pervy smut... *facepalm*)

And, um, yeah I drink a lot too. No worries there my dear, none at all. *raises glass of wine*

And another act of pervy smut? Oh I <3 you so hard...*raises anothe glass and runs off to read it*

Usually my Peter brings one home by the Friday of the first week of school, but we made it to last Thursday this year. (That's four weeks. Amazing.) He gave it to me, dammit. Sinus crap out both ends of the nose, pain to go with, and a sore throat from the drainage. So far no one else has it, but mine Husband is gonna be damned lucky if he doesn't, the way we swap spit on a regular basis. *g*

That's what I've got now. And no children to blame it on, either. Or spit swapping. Just getting breathed on from across the living room.

Oh no, you're sick too? You poor thing, that blows! And you didn't even get it a good way, dammit. *offers cuddles from my corner of the world*

Tell me about it. I never get sick this early. Or this hard. I figure I'll stay with at least a low grade sinus thing (not even at the level of a real infection, but bad enough to make me feel like shit) until Spring. ***accepts cuddles gratefully, but doesn't cuddle you back just in case of continuing contagion***

Poor baby boy! I hope he feels better soon. Barfing is just so traumatic when you're a kid.

I know, I still think it's traumatic. He just had that look on his face too, you know? At least it wasn't on the bus, that would have been a disaster.

That look --- it makes me want to burst into sympathetic tears! Poor little guy! But yes, there is the bright side of not on the bus. That would have been humiliating to boot.

Poor baby! Both you and Peter. But at least there is hope that he will be good for the wedding. So looking forward to picks of that. Big hugs for both of you and I sure hope you don't catch it too.

Carp, I cannot type these days without making a mistake. Mind you the beers haven't helped!!

He is a bit better today, stayed home from school and missed picture day, but that's okay, I can go get them done somewhere (and as you quite well know, it isn't like I don't have tons of pics of him anyway!)

Hehe, too much beer, ah, don't I know that feeling!?
