You did, you totally captured both of them so well. I love the not-quite-flirting, the bold innuendo, the longing and the loneliness going on between them. Especially Ellen, you truly show her how her wit is tinged with a bit of defensiveness, a touch of bitter, while John is simply longing for something, anything.

Hey you! Trying to go back and see what I missed in comments, and I am SO sorry I missed yours!

You know how much I love John, of course you do, but John with Ellen, well, you got out of it exactly what I hope to show, that sort of bitter and longing that together, they'd have in spades. I am so glad you liked this, and thank you SO much for encouraging me to write it :)
