That's a lovely piece of writing in that I'm left with the impression that I've seen more than you've actually shown me because of it being filtered through McCoy, through the feelings of jealousy and voyeurism it creates in him.

I imagine that McCoy, specifically De Forest's McCoy, would be completely uncomfortable with being in such a predicament, but I definitely see some of the tension that the OP noted in the prompt, of the Bones/Spock variety, so it was fun to play with. I definitely didn't want to show too much between Kirk and Spock because as pretty as they are, I wanted it to be mainly about McCoy, you know? I am glad that little experiment worked!!!
