[A good game involved winning. A good game involved being the team huddled up and cheering- fans roaring in the stands and hordes of television viewers leaping out of their seats. It involved crying from sheer joy, pride, and the patriotic feeling that came with knowing that your team won.

[Admittedly Ivan could imagine what his face looked like after that first goal, and its opposite reflected in Matthew's expression. 'It will be okay, Mr. Braginsky. The Russians will win next time.' And soon his smile became too difficult to fake, it turned into sneers, and as more time went on, he found them directed more at Matthew than the Canadian players.

At least until the game picked up. Then Ivan was focusing almost all of real smile on the Canadian.

He was positively beaming at the end of the game. "Do not worry, Matvey. The Canadians will win next time."]
