lol did u get that canon one? read the user manual first, even just the first few pages about how to operate the camera. And then play around with it a bit. I'm probably not the best person to ask, because I normally just use the Auto setting (or sometimes others depending on what I'm taking pictures of) so I don't really know too much about the manual stuff.
