i've got you next to me, i don't wanna waste it

I've been thinking about writing an entry for the past two days, and was going to start it by saying that I've been off from work for a week and I'm already bored. I've done laundry, the house is mostly clean, the floors were swept and mopped the other day (though they've already got crumbs and stuff on them; it's impossible to keep them clean, I ( Read more... )

I think I would go stir-crazy if I didn't work year-round. I'd have to pick up a second job or at least volunteer or SOMETHING. It's just nice to get out of the house, I guess.

I've seen some of the Toronto coverage. Glad you guys made it through okay!

Sorry to hear about your ex-step-grandmother.

Yeah, I just need to get out of the house more. Once I start doing more things with friends and making fun plans, I'll enjoy the time off a lot more. I've thought about finding a summer job of some sort, but honestly, it's nice to have the break from working. I just need to start filling my time with more fun things!

Thanks, me too!

And thanks. I know it's kind of ridiculous to call her that; I just feel weird leaving it at my grandmother. :-/

I'm one of those that can sit around for awhile and be content. I do have my moments of antsyness, though!

I hadn't heard about all the rain. The situation sounds so scary! I feel like I'm really dependent on my cell phone, so to not be able to use it is scary. I can't even imagine how scared a lot of those people were, especially if they were separated from loved ones and unable to communicate with them. :( Such scary pictures, too!

I'm sorry about your ex-step-grandmother. She sounds like a really nice woman and it's always sad when you know people who will miss the deceased person. :(

Yeah, it was pretty intense. Thankfully, it seems like most people were okay, even if they did get a bit wet or stuck for a few hours. And the sun's out again today, so hopefully things will be cleared up and back to normal soon.

Thanks.

Yeah, I feel like most places in the US don't report on what's going on in Canada, except for maybe the places closest to the border. :-/ But yeah, we're okay, thankfully.

I saw the photos of that...it was pretty scary looking. Thankfully everyone I know in Toronto seems to have survived just fine.

My ex-uncle died last week. (He's the ex-husband of my mom's sister.) My mom figures that the last person of the four of us (my mom, dad, sister, and I) to see him alive was my dad about eighteen years ago, so it's not like I'm particularly sad about his passing. It's still strange though since he was in his early sixties and was someone of my parents' generation, you know? Although the first person of my parents' generation to pass away was in his early fifties about ten years ago and that one was pretty freaky.

I would totally be going stir crazy if I were you. I'd probably go for a walk every morning/evening though, to get some fresh air at least.

Glad all your Toronto peeps were okay!

Yeah, it's always sad when someone relatively young passes. It's definitely strange to think of someone your parents' age dying.

I am okay if I get out of the house more. It doesn't have to be anything exciting even, but I just need to do something. Like Saturday my friend and I went to Ikea for a couple hours, and that was fine - it got me out, I got to see her, etc. So I just need to make more time for things like that. The problem is it's either been super gross and hot here or it's been super gross and raining, so it hasn't really made me want to go out much. :-/
