oh, right, this thing

I hear it's helpful to you fine folks if I actually write in this damn thing once in awhile, no? Don't take it personally, though, it's not just livejournal that I've been neglecting. Lately, I just feel like I have neither the time nor the patience for most internetting in general. There are piles of emails that I've only given the most cursory of ( Read more... )

music, busy busy, fun times, peel, books, knitting, friends

I know, right? My inner 16 year old was very excited by that pairing lol. And thanks! I hope so too. :-)

I am so jealous of your ability to go to see Neil Gaiman! The closest signings were in NY and they were expensive ($55... which isn't THAT expensive and included a copy of the book, but I didn't have extra cash lying around before it sold out). I did order a signed copy, though, so at least I'll *have* a signed copy, even if I didn't get to hear him speak. Maybe someday! You'll have to tell me how it is!

Yeah, the tickets here were $31.75 (technically, they were only $20, but they're being sold through ticketmaster, so the added 11.75 is just their bullshit fees), but that doesn't include the book. If I want to also get the book, I'll have to pay for that separately, and Canadian book prices are always SO expensive. But I'm not worrying about that part now; I'm just excited that I get to go! I will definitely post about it after it happens. :)

I hardly am around myself, and I feel so guilty too ;) so don't worry about it!

Any pics of the knitting thing? Never heard of it but certainly sounds fun!

Haha, yeah, I know I'm not the only one. :)

There are some pictures from the Toronto WWKiP event here and here if you want. I also have a few pics that my friends took, but I haven't uploaded them anywhere yet, haha. Part of the whole internet laziness lately, I think. It was a fun time, for sure!

Looks like you had some fun there :D
I know a few knitters here too and they are up to some great stuff, I don't think I'd have the skills or patience or time to do that.

It's a slow summer here on LJ! Still, it's so good to see an update from you! I haven't read one of those books that's so good I forget about other stuff in a long time. Aaaand Eric's work hours are weird so I spend a lot of time by myself with the dogs. It sounds like you've had a lot of fun stuff going on so I'm not surprised you'd rather be doing other stuff than being online. If I had that stuff going on I would too!

Matchbox Twenty! I had no idea they were on tour.

I love the last week of school because one does nothing! I remember it as a student and working at a classroom and I love the energy (or lacktherof, haha) around that time. Yay for lots of eating. :D

It is, but that also makes me glad, because if everyone else was posting a lot, I'd never catch up on all the entries! As is, I'm still a page back, but I feel like it's manageable for me to get caught up. :)

Yeah, I get ticketmaster emails, so that's how I found out about it; otherwise I would've had no idea either. But they're a group I've liked since I was in middle school, at least, so I was pretty excited when I found out about the concert. And even better that they're doing a show with the Goo Goo Dolls!

Haha, yeah, it should be pretty low key for the most part! I just can't wait to be done with it! :p

I understand! It's nice not to have to go back pages and pages and feel like it never ends. :P

Sounds like a good tour! Have you ever seen either of them in concert?

I hope it goes by quickly for you!

Nope, never! :D I probably won't see a whole lot from the lawn seats, but at least I'll get to hear them!

Yeah... It's amazing how being on the net in general takes a major back seat when things get busy or when we're kind of tired of it. It's all good though because it's always there for you when you decide to get back into the swing of things!

Kudos on another year almost completed for you! Aside from the cool events you have planned for the summer, will you be seeking some part-time gigs for the time being or are you not allowed to do that anymore now that you're employment status is all squared away?

That's pretty awesome that you were able to get a hair trimming from your friend! How's the sunburn by the way? Hopefully mostly cleared up by now?

Oh, no, it's actually the opposite. Now that I'm a permanent resident, I can work wherever I want or as many jobs as I want. So there's nothing stopping me from trying to get some kind of summer job, but I wasn't planning on looking for one this year. I'll certainly take some babysitting gigs or whatnot if those come up, but I don't think it's very likely that I'd find any kind of job that would only hire me for two months. Besides, I'm really looking forward to being able to relax and have fun without stressing about money for once!

Yeah, it definitely was really nice of her. And the sunburn's all gone now, thankfully! It lasted about a week, I'd say, though the burning feeling went away after a couple days. Thanks for asking. :)
