and while your troubles are off running wild

Well, going out three nights this week hasn't really helped my efforts at being a better LJ friend, although it has given me more interesting things to write about! So, that's at least half a win, right ( Read more... )

Oh I definitely did! And I'll totally bring it in on Thursday. That and I'll probably be wearing it all summer, haha. :)

That's cool that they gave you courtesy tickets! The only time that's happened to me (during Titanic when it was first out so more than 10 years ago!) the screen went off for about 10 minutes or so and I don't know if we even got an apology. :P

I hope the neighbor keeps his car parked where it's supposed to be parked and that the other two matters get fixed asap.

Yay for sales! It's awesome to get things you're getting cheaper! :D I really like those sandals!

Yeah, I was psyched, because I didn't really expect them to do that. It sucks that they didn't do anything for you when the movie was off for so long! :p

Me too! Keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks! It always makes me so happy to find good deals or sales when I can actually take advantage of them. And I really like the sandals too. I have a feeling they will see a lot of use this summer.

Shawl pics shawl pics! Also what are blocking pads? I always just block stuff on a towel or the carpet with straight pins (in a room I can close off from the cat, of course).

Haha, I will definitely post them soon. I was going to take a pre-blocking pic and put it on ravelry tonight or tomorrow. Ummm, like these: http://www.knitpicks.com/accessories/Blocking_Mats__D80597.html - sorry, I guess they're called mats, not pads. And I'm sure I could probably block things on a towel or whatnot, too, but I don't actually have any pins either. :p The mats are probably not necessary, but I felt like it would give me a better surface on which to block the shawl? I don't know. Here is where I confess that I've never really blocked anything before, so this is kind of new to me, haha. But Elisha, I think you would be so proud of how far I've come in my knitting since you first taught me! I don't think I would ever have imagined then that I'd be doing lace shawls!

I am definitely proud! Way to go! But yeah, I dunno about those mats, they seem like kind of a scam ;) I'm sure they're convenient, but pins cost like 99 cents, and you already have towels/a carpet. If you end up getting them let me know how they work out though!

Thanks! :) Haha, you may be right, they may be. For now, I'm borrowing some from a friend to block the shawl, and I guess I'll see how I like them/talk to other people who use them to see if they recommend them and then decided whether it's worth buying my own or not. I'll let you know what I think when I borrow my friend's!

On the topic of laptop mics...my current work laptop has a built-in mic, but no built-in speakers, which makes it kind of annoying for doing Skype dates!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you on your PR :)

Oh, that's kind of bizarre. I would have thought built-in speakers were standard on laptops!

Thank you!
