screw you, summer

Why Summer is Totally Not My Favorite SeasonSummer sucks. No, really, it does. I know you're all going to start talking about the beach and the sun and the warm weather and blah blah blah. But no. Let's talk about that warm, or should I more correctly say, hot and bloody HUMID, weather. I personally do not enjoy feeling like I'm baking every time I ( Read more... )

i hear ya. i hate summer, honestly. back in seattle it's not so bad -- very pleasant, in fact. but when you're away from the coast it gets SO HOT AND GROSS.

hate. it.

Thank you! I am so glad I'm not alone on this. Seriously, if we could have summer where it never gets above 75 and it isn't ever disgustingly humid, I might like it a lot better. But as is? No thanks, let's skip to fall, please.

that's why seattle summers are so nice. typical temps are around 70-75 with the occasional day that's warmer or cooler than that. it does get hot once in a while (even reached 100+ one year i was there), but it never stays for more than a day or so.

and the humidity is perfect out there! just enough so you don't feel like your skin is gonna crack and bleed, but not so much that you're sweating your insides. :)

i could definitely do without summer! fall is perfect.

Mmmm, that sounds absolutely perfect. I spent the summer in Seattle once, when I was about 13, and I don't think I fully appreciated the awesomeness of the weather.

We should totally petition somebody to skip summer and just have longer spring and fall instead!

if it's any consolation, i don't blame you for it at all. i can't *stand* humidity and part of the prompt to move north is to have less of it*. and even on bad days, it's a few compared to much of the time when it's around 75-80 or so.

*as i'm in eastern massachusetts, i have to deal with all the bay nonsense and thus humidity can prevail and even into the evening. but depending on what systems are lingering, the evening cooldown can be much more significant than say virginia =]

Yeah, it's good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't enjoy summer weather. I do not miss moving into the dorm rooms in Williamsburg in late August AT ALL.

I'm a summer lover over here (or really, a winter hater), but I've got to agree that there are aspects of it that suck. And the mosquitoes are especially heinous this year. They're out at like 4pm! WTF. GO BACK IN YOUR HOLES, BUZZY CRAPBAGS.

Hahaha, buzzy crapbags may be my new favorite phrase. I think I will use it all summer. :)

I've never particularly enjoyed summer myself; where I grew up it was always above 90 and bleh. It'd be nice if summer meant temperatures around 75 and a nice breeze minus humidity, but that's just wishful thinking. :) That's great the your ac is working again!

I totally agree. I think that would be perfect. Glad I'm not the only one who isn't totally into summer!

I thought I was the only one who hated this season! I hate feeling sweaty right after I get out of the shower, and then being drenched in sweat on my ride to work--my car's AC is broken. Not as bad as apartment AC being out, but it does suck. Also I feel your pain on the sunburn--I got burnt last week even though it was raining. Figure that one out, haha.

Yessssssssssss. Isn't that one of the grossest feelings ever? Ugh, I hate that. Aw, that totally sucks about the sunburn. Damn fair skin!
