I craved sushi and runny cheese throughout my pregnancy (once the barfy part was over, anyway) and frequently indulged. I didn't get any lectures from nosy people, but I didn't actually look pregnant, either, just fat.

Never mind that once the kid is born, people get even worse. I got plenty of unwelcome advice (and unwelcome baby touching!) just walking around on the street with the stroller.

Unwelcome baby touching? Dear lord. I don't know why, but I kind of assumed that the unwelcome touching would stop after the pregnancy. Ugh, that's awful. :-/

I'm in L&D nursing and pediatric nursing this semester. So far it's been a lot of fun. & Women in other countries eat entirely different foods, have different work/life habits, and still give birth to healthy babies.

& if people are pro-choice, doesn't that extend to a mother's discretion about what she puts into her body? (Aside from the obviously harmful effect of doing hard/illegal drugs)

Not to mention SWINE FLU - when we have babies, nobody's touching them but people who we know and who have used hand sanitizer.

Yeah, for real, that's a good point about women in other cultures doing a lot of things differently but still having healthy babies. People really should just mind their own business. Ugh!
