It's a first for an entire continent! Argentina has legalized same-sex marriage, and according to the Brisbane Times:

Same-sex couples will have the same rights as heterosexuals in terms of adoptions, social security and family time.

That is so wonderful! And one more country moves into the 21 century leaving the US in the idealogical dust. I just can't figure my countrymen out. They must not have a lot of religious fundamentalists in Australia.

Indeed! And I'd say there are certainly those who share your sentiment - some of the comment threads/Tweets said basically the same.

Except, ehm, it was Argentina, not Australia.
