Tyler - nails, sleeping, shopping

Yesterday morning I finally cut Tyler's nails. Baby nails are sharp little things. Up until a few weeks ago Tyler's nails would get to a certain length and they'd break off. Then they stopped breaking off and both of us were showing signs that it was time to start cutting them. I had little scratches on the tops of my breasts, Tyler would get ( Read more... )

Oh my goodness I almost cried reading that. When you get brave enough to try clipping again try what I described. It made it so easy. I waited until after he ate and was calm. Turning his hand over so his plam faces up and pulling gently down on the pad of his finger (learned that from trimming doggy nails) exposed his nail and made me much more comfortable.

I know once they show signs of turning over you are supposed to stop. Ty isn't turning over yet but he is starting to turn his body toward us when we are laying next to him and he's on his back. The Halo sleep sack swaddler has the removable swaddling part but you can also just move it down so it swaddles but leaves baby's arms free. Maybe I'll try that tonight.

It was so hard to not hold Tyler constantly. When I wasn't holding him and he was sleeping I'd watch him and ache to hold him again. So I would let him fall asleep on me and just hold him all the time. Now I need to use his naps to get stuff done (like updating LJ) you know, important stuff!

My sis JUST started cutting my niece's nails while she was awake a couple of months ago! Otherwise, she did it while she was snoozin'

Robeez are the cutest things, ever! There are also a lot of sellers on Etsy that make them; more patterns and sometimes cheaper prices.

Aww those shoes are cute! I have to be careful with shoes with Isaac (he's in hard soled shoes now) because he has sweaty feet and gets really nasty places between his toes.

Just wondering, as my kid doesn't sleep through the night so take this as you wish he he, what if you swaddled Tyler in a really light blanket and put him in warm jammies? It seems like you are worried that he'll be cold. My kid hated HATED being swaddled ... he would cry and cry. He hates to have blankets on him too. Finding sleepers in Alabama in the middle of summer was not easy!
