Summertime makes me wish I still had the Gem of Amara. This whole "lurking in the shadows" business gets more and more difficult to do when the shadows are scarce.

Anyone old-fashioned enough to still have fun at night, or are all of you frolicking in the sunlight, having picnics and doing other "wholesome" nonsense?

What's the Gem of Amara?

My next event or whatever will be at night. Kay?

It was a ring that rendered its vampiric wearer invincible. Quite useful, that.

Sounds like a good plan, pet.

But you lost it?

... you can say that.

Wholesome. Things during the day can be just as UNwholesome as things at night.

Really now? What sort of "things" are you thinking about?

Do you really need it spelled out for you?

I wouldn't mind a diagram or some other such presentation.

Seeing as sleep is determined to not treat me well, what did you have in mind? I wasn't exactly known for folicking at the Academy, and it's not exactly a recommended activity on starships either.

The Academy? What, you're some kind of prep school boy? My idea of fun might be a bit too raucous for the likes of you, then, mate. Unless you can knock back a few drinks without falling over.

Oh. Never actually tried that yet. And no--the closest thing to Starfleet here would be a combination of NASA and West Point, if that gives you an idea.

Not that I'm one to pry, I've met people with stranger aversions than sunlight, but what exactly do you have against our token red dwarf?

Starfleet? ... I think I'd be better off not asking.

Call it a severe allergic reaction. I try to go out for a little sunlit stroll, and I go up like a torch before becoming rather ashen. From the looks of others who've suffered that fate, it doesn't look particularly pleasant.

Maybe you could talk to a few of the experts round here. They might be able to find something similar for you. As amusing as it'd be to watch you go flaming and all..

What "experts?" You mean blokes like this "Doctor" I've been hearing about, and whatall?

I'll never go flaming about as much as you do, mate.

Yep, that's him, the Doctor. He's a bit squirrelly, but he does seem to know (nearly) everything.

And I think you have me mistaken for someone else. I don't flame. It's difficult to flame in a three piece suit. The worst that happens is that people approach me to do their taxes.

Usually, people who know everything come at a pretty steep price.

Oh, I'd say you come off as more of a hotel concierge than a taxman. Accountant-type blokes aren't nearly as entertaining to harass.
