Bridal shop- Alexandria, VA- Tuesday after workshops

After workshops, the girls head to meet Sam at the bridal shop in Alexandria to do a little thing called dress shopping. Aeryn would call it "getting it over with", which is why we're not asking her

Rory's looking around almost in awe. "I forgot how many different looks there are. Wow, you should totally get one of those," she says, pointing to a full-skirted bridal gown with poofy sleeves.

Aeryn looks over and sees what she's talking about, making a face. "I should kill you for suggesting such a thing."

"See how this can be funny?" Rory asks, picking up a catalog to flip through it. "Oooh, look, hot pink."

Aeryn's staring. She's pretty sure Rory's joking, but at the same time, she remembers the whole cake thing, so she's not sure. "The thought of that is even horrifying."

Molly? Still giddy with excitement. Since they were in a nice dress shop though, she tried to control herself and mostly kept it contained to bouncing on her toes.

Before looking at individual dresses, she walked along a row of them and ran her hand along the fabric.

"Let us know if you see anything you like," Aeryn tells her. And hopefully the bridesmaid dresses can be done without too much of her help. Or any at all. Right?

"What colors are we looking for?" Molly asked and grinned. "I'm guessing not pink."

"No pink. Sorry," she says, but she's smiling. "Black and red, I think. Rory made me make a decision and I'm sticking to it."

Sam was there, a little late, and wearing faded bell-bottoms, a peasant shirt, and a pair of blue sunglasses. "Hey, everyone!" She greeted them with a wave and hoped they wouldn't asked. Stupid seventies.

Aeryn has no idea what passes for fashion in the real world. For all she knows, this is normal. So she actually greets Sam with a smile and says, "You made it."

"Finally," she agreed, and she couldn't believe how happy she was to see familiar faces, "Have I missed anything?"

"Not yet," she says, not mentioning that she's trying very hard to avoid doing anything yet. "I think we're just looking around at the moment."

Isabel collapsed in an exhausted heap walked in and smiled. "Hey guys. Did you find anything yet?"

Sam waved at Isabel, who might notice the bell-bottom jeans, peasant top, sunglasses, and pigtails. "Hey, you! What do you think? In red or black?"

"Hey Sam!" she waved. "Either or works for me. I like it. It's not too frou-frou. You might need a different hairstyle for it though. I'm not sure the pigtails say the same thing as the dress."

"Stupid seventies," Sam grumbled. "I didn't have time to change. How've you been?"

While the other girls are looking at bridesmaid dresses, Aeryn finally manages to wander over to one of the aisles filled with white. And wow, is that terrifying. Browsing through some of them, she honestly can't picture herself in one of these things. Her prom dress last year was white, but that was different. And these are floofy, and heavy.

Though there is one so far that isn't bad...

"I like that one," Rory says, tilting her head as she wanders up. "With the fanning at the bottom and everything."

"Doesn't seem to weigh more than I do," she says, considering it. "Have you seen some of these? How do you walk in them?"

"Rollerskates," Rory deadpans.
