Room 209, Saturday morning

Aeryn wakes up, blinks, and puts down the driver's ed book that she'd still been holding after falling asleep studying. And then she looks over and sees the boy that was helping her study actual studying, completely innocent omg and really really hopes she doesn't get into trouble for this. She's pretty sure it's against regulations.

When John wakes up, he wonders what happened to that stuffed teddy bear he'd been holding when he fell asleep.

He opens his eyes and looks over at Aeryn.

"Hi!"

"Hi," she says, sitting up. "Are we going to be in trouble?"

"Nah." John sits up and scratches his head. "We didn't do nothing. We was just tired and felled asleep."

"But you're a boy in my quarters," Aeryn insists.

"You invited me," John insists, now trying to climb off the bed. "We didn't smooch or nothing. That's gross."

"And against regulations," says Aeryn, pronouncing it carefully.

"Raviolli? Is that for lunch today?" John manages to jump off the bed and pads around Aeryn's room, looking for toys. "Where's all the Army men?"

"I don't have any army men here," says Aeryn, frowning. "What are you doing?"

"Looking for toys." John digs through some books, tossing them left and right as he goes. "This sucks. Your room is boring."

"Stop that!" she says, and picks up one of the books. And holds it out to him. "Read?" she asks.

"Books are boring!" But he takes the book and climbs back up on the bed. "Want the one about the ham and green eggs?"

"I guess?" she says, not knowing what any of that is.

"Kay." John tries to find the story with the pictures he recognizes and, when he does find it, starts reading to Aeryn. It's slow and stuttering as John isn't the best reader but he reads about the green eggs and ham and all that.

"There. All fini-fina-done!"

"That made no sense," she says, considering it.

"Yes it did," John argues. "It's the bestest story ever. It's cool."

"Read me another one," she says.
