Guys... it's over... I still can't believe that I'm back in rainy Germany, going to work as usual when just a few days ago I've been to beautiful Roma, talking to and interacting with my favourite actors, being part of so much fun and joy and - of course - hanging out with my lovely friends!
It's not fair that convention weekends always go by so much faster than the repetitive work days but I guess we'll never be able to change that. This time around I didn't buy as many photo ops as last year, so I had the chance to attend almost every panel and I got more than 30 pages full of notes!
Anyway... long story short, here is the usual convention report. I'll spare you the story of how my flight and the first evening was, cause really nothing interesting happened on Thursday ;)
I hope you have as much fun reading my reports as I had at experiencing the convention and taking the notes for you guys! And I'd be very happy if you leave me a comment, even if it's just something like „I was here“ XD
So let's start with the amazing tour through Rome I had the chance to experience another time, the "Roman Holiday"!!
Please note:
I know those watermarks are ugly as shit but it's just not possible for me to upload photos of the actors without credits anymore. I see them all over the internet and of course nobody gives a shit that I spent almost € 500 on this tour alone. There are even people who sell pictures I or one of my friends took last year, without asking for our permission first, so... yeah... I know they would look better without the watermark but it's necessary.
Also, if you want to use any of the pictures I posted, please always credit and link to my Livejournal!! As I said, I spent so much money on this whole weekend and it's just fucking annoying when people simply don't care and steal my stuff!!
Roman Holiday 2011
As the three of us all had booked the Roman Holiday, we had to get up early (it was supposed to start at 7.20 am), so we got dressed and went downstairs to have breakfast. It was great as usual but in the end we waited for MJ's stupid fucking tea for like 15 minutes and the asshole waitress just kinda ignored us, until we gave up and went upstairs again. We had planned to change clothes and brush our teeth and stuff but when I looked at my watch it was already 7.19 am!!! So we literally RAN downstairs and everything went pretty smooth so we got on the bus like 10 minutes later. And you know what I forgot in all the hurry? Right. The Gummybears... THE STUPID FUCKING GUMMYBEARS I HAD ONLY BOUGHT FOR THE STUPID FUCKING ROMAN HOLIDAY!!!! MJ and I were SO pissed, we wanted to seriously hurt that damn waitress once we came back!!
Anyway... it wasn't the same bus as last year, but slightly smaller, so we knew right away, that the guests wouldn't be on the same bus with us, as they were last year... we travelled for like 45 minutes after Francesca revealed this year's location: Castel Sant'Angelo!! I was truly happy about this cause Ostia Antica last year had been great and everything but I'm just more interested in actual buildings, not so much ruins and stuff... also, as you might've noticed, the name „Castel Sant'Angelo“ should remind you a lot of a certain winged guy on our favourite show...
We had to walk to the Castel for like 2 minutes and stopped at the Ponte Sant'Angelo (the Angel Bridge), waiting for the actors. As Daniela (one of the main organizers) told us later, they got stuck in traffic. So we took pictures and tried to stay calm.
Finally the actors' bus arrived and they came walking towards us. Luckily the group was as civilized and respectful as last year, so nobody screamed or ran towards them or anything like that. The actors lined up in front of us and greeted us. Of course Misha had to mess with us first thing in the morning, so he was like „Good morning class“ and I said „Good morning, Mr Collins!“ So the final line up for the tour was about 30 - 35 fans, the girls from the staff and the following actors: Misha Collins, Rob Benedict, Sebastian Roché, Richard Speight jr., Chad Lindberg and Mark Sheppard ♥
Unfortunately we got the same tour guide as last year, so we knew right from the beginning that we would have to explore the Castel kind of on our own. I mean, she was nice and she knows loads of stuff about everything but her Italian accent is just so strong that most of us couldn't understand a word she said.
I think we made a group picture at the beginning but I don't have it yet (the organizers made it) so I'll just add that later ;)
After talking to the actors for quite a while, we entered the Castel and walked for a short while. Then we stopped and tried to listen to what our tour guide had to say. I gave up after 2 minutes and looking at Misha I figured he didn't understand a word either XD
As I said, the participants were just as nice and polite as last year so there really was no use for all the security they brought this year (like 5 men in black, it was ridiculous XD) but they didn't really interrupt anything so we were okay ;)
For a while we walked inside the Castel, stopped here and there, pretended to listen to the tour guide and then moved on. At one point Chad sat down on a bench-like thingy and of course everybody started taking pictures - and Chad wouldn't be Chad if he didn't start posing like a boss (Dr Badass sexy pose, like Krista called it) XDDD
Finally we got outside again (that day was one big whirl of taking off and putting on our sunglasses XD) and stopped in an inner courtyard. There was a beautiful angel statue, so we stopped and took pictures.
As most of us were simply standing there, waiting for the rest of the group to arrive outside, I summoned up the courage to ask Sebastian for a picture and he instantly agreed. We tried to take the picture ourselves but Sebastian wasn't satisfied with the first photo so we got MJ to take another one XD
And then... you know... Misha was standing kinda next to us and I thought "what the hell" and asked him for a pic as well! He seemed to be a bit tired that morning (weren't we all) but he also happily said yes and I got those two lovely photos with him ♥
We spent some more time waiting for the others and then proceeded. The tour guide kept blabbering her Italenglish and we stopped again to take some pictures of the surroundings of the Castel from one of the battlements. I also had to take a picture with sweet, sweet Daniela ♥
I had noticed Rob who was kinda standing by himself at that moment, so I walked over and asked if he would mind to take a picture. I knew right away that this guy was going to become sort of my new favourite! No, I'm serious - Rob Benedict is a wonderful human being!! He literelly threw himself on me, squeezed me and giggled and laughed - he's just the sweetest, most adorable person in this world ♥ ♥ ♥
So while Daniela (I think it was her) took the picture, I noticed Richard coming closer and finally jumping into the picture!! He took my camera from Daniela and wanted to take the picture himself but half of himself got cut off so I took the camera away from him again and handed it back to Daniela (Richard was like: "So what, you don't trust me???" XD) At that moment I was already a giggling mess - just imagine my surprise and happiness, when everybody started laughing hysterically, Daniela took the picture, then grinned at me and said "oh, you're gonna love this picture more than you think..." - of course I was confused but when I turned around, I just managed to see Misha running away from us XDDDDD
Ladies and Gentlemen - Misha Trollins ♥
We continued walking, stopped here and there and took some more pictures, as we got closer and closer to the top of the Castel.I talked to Richard at one point and said "Hi" from Becky (
ellethdartagnan) and he said he was so sad, that he missed her at Asylum 5 and that she couldn't come to Rome this year.
Misha and I started talking somewhere on the way and I can't really remember everything from this conversation. I guess the most important thing (at least for me) is, that he remembered my name (*extremely embarassing inner fangirl moment*)...
I told him about my new job and that I now get less money for more work, which kinda sucks XD He kept turning away and coughing (it was kinda like: *cough* Bless you! *cough* Bless you!! *cough cough* BLESS YOU!!!) and he told me that he brought his wife and son to Rome this time and that West got a cold a few days ago. Fortunately he was okay now but he had passed it on to his dad XDDD So I was like "well, that sucks but at least the baby's okay" and he laughed and said "Well, yeah but apparantly he doesn't know about different time zones and doesn't give a shit that his sick parents wanna sleep" XD
We waited for the others to follow and then proceeded upstairs. We weren't supposed to take pictures in here but I didn't know at first so... yeah... there's no use in deleting a picture I already made, right? ^^
Then we finally reached the top of Castel Sant'Angelo and finally realized how fucking hot it was!! No, seriously - I had checked the weather for that day on Thursday morning and it was supposed to be 23 °C ... it was 30 °C ... not that I'm complaining, of course, but Misha was kind of... well... he was sweating like a pig XDDD
Well, of course we had to wait for everyone arriving as well, so MJ and I took the chance and asked Misha for another picture (nooooo, we weren't stalking him, not at aaaaall :P)
We then wandered around a bit and enjoyed the fantastic view of Rome! It was sunny, it was bright, it was simply heavenly!! Everybody (even the actors) was "ooh"ing and "aah"ing, it was adorable XDDD And then it happened... my camera died!! I was SO pissed!! I mean, everybody else still had theirs but I just felt betrayed... it sucked so bad T_T
Well, MJ and I stopped here and there, talked to the actors and continued walking around. I had a nice chat with Mark who asked where I was from. When I said "Germany" he asked, where exactly and then started talking a bit German XD He told me, that his mom was from Germany and that he didn't talk much but understood almost everything. Of course I totally forgot taking a picture with him, I don't even know what was wrong with me T____T DAMN!!!
Next MJ, Dominik (another German guy) and I started talking to Rob, how he liked Rome so far. He told us that he had been to Rome before but that was like 12 years ago and that some things really changed. He still loved it, of course! I told him, that I absolutely loved the last episode of Season 5, the Impala clips and most of all Chuck's / Rob's voiceovers! I also told him that I wished Season 5 had been the last, because this episode was simply perfect and I didn't like Season 6 at all. He was so glad we enjoyed it, but he couldn't really say anything to Season 6, as he hadn't seen it yet. In the end I told him that the fandom now uses OMC (Oh my Chuck) instead of OMG (Oh my God) and he thought that was hilarious!!
We talked to Chad afterwards but the only things I really remember is that he took off his shirt (XD) and that I told him I loved his nail polish (wow, how very creative XDDD)...
Then Daniela (or was it Francesca? well... one of the organizers ^^) asked, if we wanted to take another group picture, so we lined up at one side of the Castel and took several pictures! Of course I don't have them yet, either but I will add them as soon as I get them!
Next the actors all lined up in front of the highest tower, so that we could take pictures of them. It was a little awkward at first, cause only Chad was really posing (as usual XDDDD) - but then I had an idea and asked "How about a jumping one?" and Misha was like "A jumping one? Those always work!!" - and then they jumped!!
It was absolutely and ridiculously funny XDDD After that we stayed on top of the Castel a little bit longer, so in the end we spent about 30 minutes there. Then we slowly proceeded downstairs again. We had to wait for the rest of the group several times again, so we got more time to talk to the actors and take pictures and stuff ^-^
Outside of the Castel, the tour guide told us some more about the Angel Bridge but seriously - I think the only one who actually listened to her and understood what she said was Sebastian! And he knows so much stuff about the Castel, it's amazing!! That guy... that guy is a walking and talking miracle!! He also kept interrupting her, so I was close on scolding him along the lines "one more interruption, Monsieur Roché and you've earned yourself a detention!" XDDD
As I said, it had gotten really, really, REALLY hot by now and Misha had taken off his jacket (finally). Luckily MJ had brought a fan from Korea and had already given it to him earlier, so he started using it!
Eventually the tour guide stopped talking (I felt sorry for her cause nobody - but Sebastian - really listened to her... but it was warm and we were kind of distracted and not ready to concentrate on understanding her Italian accent English) and we had some more time with the guests, talking, taking pictures, messing around...
Sebastian wanted to take a picture of Richard with the Vatican behind him so of course MJ took some pictures of them XD
When Daniela said that the tour was over and that they had to leave now, it felt like we've been on tour for hours but at the same time it was as if we just had started 10 minutes ago... we were so sad but all of the guests looked so happy and waved us goodbye, told us that they couldn't wait to see us later that day!!
That's it for now, guys!! I spent more than 2 hours writing this thing and editing the pictures so... well... if you like the report, please gimme some feedback *sweats* XD
There will be more about Friday's panels, the Cocktail party, the other two days, the concerts and so on... but not today!! I'm exhausted =_=
Oh, and just one last thing - I got a pretty unique souvenir from that trip... Misha was so kind to pass on his cold to MJ and me... so now I got a sore throat and a bad cough - THANKS MISHA -______-
