"And at that moment, the train vanished from the tracks." Huh, sounds awfully familiar.

"Finally, he made it to the top. The boy perched himself on the side of the cliff he had been walkin' along the ledge towards. Any scars or bruises he had didn't bother him, somehow. Liftin' himself up, he turned around and faced the woman. 'I told ya,' he said. 'I told ya no matter what happened, that I'm never gonna die.' The woman simply sighed, and said 'One day, you'll understand.' Then, just like that, she vanished."

Well, he truly meant it.

Not really a scary story, I guess--'least, it's got a happy ending.

Yeah, it had good suspense but the conclusion was totally weak.

Well, I was gonna make it more fantastical an' involved, but I decided about halfway through ta go with the other direction.

I hadn't thought about it in a long time, an' I figured why not? Sometimes it's good ta look back before ya look forward.

That sounded like it came right out of an after school special.

It was a weird experience, I'll say that much.

But it got me thinkin'--if my job is ta instill fear in the hearts an' minds of the masses, how do I know what fear is? So I thought back to th' last time I think I really felt it. Memory's a funny thing.
