[If you happen to pass by a certain abandoned barn this evening, you can't help but hear the not so dulcet tones of both a violin and a guitar being played one after the other, again and again. The musician doesn't seem to be playing a particular song, just making a lot of noise ( Read more... )

[thinking she really should have seen that coming.]

Hi, Professor. Vanya's making some noise, right?

Yes, she is. I have a feeling that we'll be hearing some of this for a while.

How have you been?

Yeah, you're probably right about that.

I guess there's not really any point in telling you I'm perfectly fine.

Not really. Though you're welcome to try, if you'd like.

[OH GOOD]

I'm just worried about Julian, that's all. We had a huge fight, and we made up but he still doesn't want to talk to me about why we had the fight in the first place.

Do you know what caused it and is he just refusing to discuss that, or is not even that much resolved?

He doesn't want to talk about it. But since our fight happened after he snapped the nintendo controller in half, I'd say that probably had something to do with it.

*nods*

What happened after the controller got broken?

He said he'd done it on purpose. And then he started going on about how we're all talking about him behind his back, even though we're totally not doing that, and I tried to tell him that, only he wouldn't believe me.

...you know that it probably had very little to do with you, correct?

needs_a_hg September 6 2011, 04:36:33 UTC
I know that. But I can't help him if he doesn't talk to me. I've probably gone and made it worse now anyway; if he finds out I'm talking to you about it he'll be so mad.

Then you should know that if you're not actually part of the problem, then you might not be a part of the solution. At least not how you might like to be.

And you can always tell him that I pressed you to talk to me about it.

But that's not fair! He saved me, and I can't even be there for him, just to listen?

[if he's paying attention to what's going on in her head, she's remembering the time Julian and Laura rescued her from the people who were enjoying slicing her up with lasers and such. fun times. luckily, she's only presently remembering the rescuing part.]

And that wouldn't be right. Telling him that.

Not unless he wants to talk. And that might take a while. Perhaps the best thing that you could give him would be your patience.

And I'm in a far better position to be the target of his ire for being a busybody than you are. You don't have to, of course, but know that it's all right.
