Good morning, Son of -

This has progressed well into the realm of the ridiculous.

I'm afraid I don't understand. Was one Son of Adam with my face not enough?

Oh, not nearly enough. In addition to Meric and myself, you might encounter up to three others here, one of whom is actually an exact duplicate of myself, though apparently from a different timeline.

Yes, indeed. My world is certainly nothing like this.

I am called Tumnus.

A pleasure to meet you, Tumnus. And few worlds are, I suspect. This is like a place where all of those other worlds meet, the past couple of days much more intensely than usual.

Likewise.

Have you been here for very long? I am still quite confused about this place.

A bit over a month now. Which is not that long, there are people who have been trapped here for years. People drawn from all different worlds and times to this one place, for reasons unknown.

But this, right now -- you and the others who have showed up here in the past couple of days -- this is something out of the ordinary. Which is saying something for a place like this. What we're experiencing right now is an unusual instability. I doubt that you'll need to worry about being here for too long.

That is a relief, thank you.

...People are here for years?

The longest recorded times are approximately six years, which would be from the date of the establishment of the camp itself.

...That is truly terrible. I hope you do not have to stay that long.

Supposedly, time doesn't pass in one's home world while one is here. That's a reassuring hope, at least. Still, it remains rather... jarring.

Oh, yes, that is certainly good news. But I can understand that it does not make up for being here.

Are you finding positive things about camp, at least?
