I don't know that it's something they're doing willingly. He mentioned a barrier, though my impression is that he also believes us being here is temporary...

It seems as if it's been constructed as a situation slightly similar to ours, in that this "place" brings in people from other worlds and traps them... I've yet to identify a clue or goal we ought to be pursuing, but I suppose the best we can do is learn what we can...
