((RUNNING OUT TO A FAMILY EVENT! I may try to thread on my phone, I may not. WE'LL SEE HOW THE OCEAN WAVES!))

[Extremely polite and a bit flustered at this new person--doesn't notice Charles at first]

[Blinks and turns]

Ah, good day. May I help you?

I hope you'll forgive my curiosity, but I'm rather new here and still quite fascinated by the wonderfully diverse range of individuals that I've been encountering. As much as I would rather not be trapped in a zombie-infested summer camp, I'm trying to make the best of it by meeting as many people as I can here.

*holds out his hand*

[Handshake! Though I have only a tentacle... and is like seven feet tall so this is a bit odd, logistically]

It is a pleasure, Master Xavier. I am Admiral ZEX, of the VUX species. We are of similar minds! The potential for cultural exchange in this place is staggering, don't you think?

*ehhh, you reach a certain point of awkwardness and it all just sort of gets blurred together after that*

Likewise, Admiral. And most definitely. Where, and when, I suppose, do you and your people come from?

The VUX originate from Beta Luyten I, a good 230 light years from this planet. I personally am from a good century in the future. ♥ And yourself?

My, that's very impressive. How has the adjustment been for you? I'm from about a sixty years in the past, on some version of this planet, at least, and it's been... an experience.

While I found the technologies available here to be rather... rustic, I imagine it was a fair bit easier for me than for one in your position. I had nothing to un-learn, with regard to human culture or language, and I trust others to let me know when I am about to push an incorrect button or break something. Caution works wonders.

It's not as bad as it could be. I imagine that being pre-electricity might be the biggest hurdle. For me, it's mostly been an ongoing course in computer use, though I imagine it to really be just something like an accelerated version of what I would eventually go through in my own timeline.

It must be fascinating, if a bit frustrating, yes? ♥

Actually, it's rather an enjoyable challenge.

*if that slight smirk is an indication, one might guess that it's a challenge he's been handling pretty well*

I am glad! That is the best attitude to have, really. ♥

Is there anyone here whom you recognize from home? This makes the transition easiest, I've found.

*....smirk is gone now*

Yes, there is. I certainly don't feel quite as out-of-date.

...Ah.

It is... also occasionally difficult? I apologize...
