I guess... maybe it's one of those things where they're trying not to feel bad for outliving other people or something? I don't know. That's how it is in the movies, isn't it?

Still... it doesn't really feel right to say that someone isn't allowed to be proud of a part of who they are like that, especially when it's one I'll never be able to understand the way that they do.

But, I don't know. I'd like to think that these kinds of things aren't really about one group of people showing off their personal pride. Like, maybe it's about people who don't always get treated like it seeing and feeling like they have just as much right as anybody else to be proud of who they are. Or something like that.

But if the question is why did camp pick certain groups and not others, who knows what logic this place goes by. It's not like anybody has less right to be proud of themselves than anybody else... Unless it's for something that hurts people, I guess.
