Pride Post!

PRIDE!
Be proud of who you are!

And I don't know how you can have pride in being dead. You're dead.

[looks like she's trying to logic that one out]

I guess... maybe it's one of those things where they're trying not to feel bad for outliving other people or something? I don't know. That's how it is in the movies, isn't it?

It's like those stupid websites with vegetarians claiming they have pride in being what they are. Okay, you probably don't choose you be an immortal, but no one's making your life shitty because of it.

I guess not.

Still... it doesn't really feel right to say that someone isn't allowed to be proud of a part of who they are like that, especially when it's one I'll never be able to understand the way that they do.

That's not really the point.

Look, I get that it's not really the same, if that's what you're getting at. Being an immortal or a half-elf or whatever... [tugs at her pink bracelet] It's different.

But, I don't know. I'd like to think that these kinds of things aren't really about one group of people showing off their personal pride. Like, maybe it's about people who don't always get treated like it seeing and feeling like they have just as much right as anybody else to be proud of who they are. Or something like that.

I can be proud of the fact that I fucked like, half the football team at school, but I don't have a damn bracelet that says "slut" on it.

If you did, whoever's in charge around here would be getting a piece of my mind. Nobody gets to call you that.

[going to try to unbristle a little]

But if the question is why did camp pick certain groups and not others, who knows what logic this place goes by. It's not like anybody has less right to be proud of themselves than anybody else... Unless it's for something that hurts people, I guess.
