[Over by the doorframe--which is still standing there, plain as day--there is a small booth set up. Draped in cloths of black and gray, the wood itself painted white, it looks a lot like someone just took a black-and-white photo and slapped it into a full-color backdrop. If you look, you can see a pair of hands folded neatly in a waiting position. "That's right, I suppose we should get things started . . ."
There is a sign: "FORTUNES TOLD."]
