[She licks the spoon thoughtfully.]

And maple syrup.

Pickles and ice cream?
Well, at least it's not straight vinegar.

Aa? You seemed hesitant.

I gotta say, pickles and icecream isn't the best mixture for one's digestive system.

Ah, Doctor McCoy.
[hmm] Doesn't sound too good. What about vinegar?

...has its benefits, if you're careful?

I guess it depends on how much excitement you like in your digestive system. If you have enough in your regular life, bland food's probably better.

[grins] I take it you get more than enough excitement in your normal life, Mr Hidari?

You could say that, but I'm not the one drinking vinegar.

...you know people who drink vinegar? I kinda figured you were talking about having a lot of it on a salad. Or with icecream.

[laughs a bit]
My partner. He had a bit of a problem with it. Thankfully, not with icecream.

Ah. Now that's an interesting one. I've seen all kinds of problems -- been subject to a few myself -- but never vinegar before.

He around here? Would I've met him?

I'm not entirely sure why it started, but he's mostly over it by now.

[trying not to look put out]
He's not here, no. Neither is... anyone I know from my home.

That's something.

...ah. That sounds a touch lonely.

That wasn't really too bad, in the run of things.

[...cough] A hardboiled detective such as myself does not get lonely. I take it that means you have others from your ...world here, Doctor McCoy?
